    Key Feature: Deferred Debit Card

Problem definition: A new card product had to coexist with an existing Debit Card — without confusing users. A new card product had to coexist with an existing Debit Card — without confusing users.

    Users needed clarity on:
    • upcoming charges
    • billing cycles
    • what’s paid vs what’s due

Goal: Make deferred payments transparent and predictable, while keeping familiar debit card behavior. I Led end-to-end design across the Mobile (Customer Experience) and Web (Employee Experience).

    Process

    🔍 1. Discovery

    • Aligned business goals during kickoff
    • Competitor analysis (Starling, Monzo, Revolut)
    • Concept exploration in low-fi

      ⚙️ 2. Definition

      • Defined epics & interaction flows
      • Built low-fi prototypes
      • Collaborated closely with tech

      🎨 3. Refinement

      • Hi-fi design using the design system
      • Designed within technical constraints
      • Prepared handoff assets

🛑 Constraints: Project expected to start directly in hi-fi
My Response: Stepped back into discovery to validate concepts

🛑 Constraints: APIs differed across client banks
My Response: Clarified open questions early. Prevented costly rework later

Deferred Debit Cards with Sample Branding

      Key Design Decisions

🧠 Keep Debit Card Logic, Show Deferred Behavior
🎨 Design: Billing indicators, Upcoming payments, Clear due dates

🧠 Bridge Overview → Billing Logic
      🎨 Design:
Introduced a dedicated Deferred Payments screen

      🧠 Avoid Information Overload
🎨 Design: Split information across 2 screens: Card Overview and Transaction Details

      🧠 Clarify Billing Cycles
Testing Insight: Users struggled to understand what was due and when

🎨 Design: Clear hierarchy to show the different billing periods: Current, Previous, Past.

      Employee Experience (Web)

Designed a mirrored Employee Dashboard so bank staff could:

      • Understand deferred logic instantly
      • Explain billing clearly to customers
      • Reduce support friction
